Crop Dusting

Pictures taken March 2007

John and I decided to take a ride to watch when a crop duster started spraying liquid fertilizer on one of the wheat fields.  I had my camera with me, of course, and I had fun taking pictures, that's for sure.  It was a fun and challenging subject.

Low and slow is just not something you do in an airplane unless you're landing.  Other than a controlled landing, it's just a dangerous thing to do.  Now add the extra weight of all that liquid fertilizer and you know he had to be moving at a pretty good clip.  In fact, he outran me a couple of times.

These pictures are a little bigger than most on this site, but the file sizes aren't as large as some others, so they'll load at about the same rate as you've come to expect from this web site.  I just thought it best to show you these a little larger.  They deserve it.
