Shrimp Boil - 03.21.08

There's nothing better than family and a beautiful early spring day.  Our world has recently turned back to green and it's lovely.

Today was Good Friday and my family got together at my sister Julie's house to stuff heads for the Easter Sunday crawfish bisque.  We do it as a group because we need so many.  This year we stuffed over 600 of them!

This afternoon my brother Jerry and I went visit Adam at his house.  Sarah had to be at the plantation (she's a chef in a five star restaurant there), but luckily we had gotten to spend time with her earlier in the day.  Ross was already there helping Adam work on his truck when I got there.  The day was gorgeous and we spent a good bit of time outdoors.

Ross took this picture of a squirrel in Adam's yard enjoying a snack.

The pear tree in his back yard is loaded with very young fruit.

New leaves on the fig tree.

The apple tree in his back yard is in full bloom.

The bees were busy today!  Here's one working on a citrus bloom.

The Azaleas are ablaze by the thousands in south Louisiana now.  They're beautiful!

I don't think trees are ever more beautiful than when they're covered with new leaves.

Adam was still able to read the newspaper that was used to light the burner.

Brothers having fun boiling shrimp.

The Cypress tree has it's new leaves, too.

If Mr. Crawfish was home, he wasn't being sociable.

Cypress knees behind Adam's garage.

I'm going to have to look and see what kind of bug this is on the thistle.

This bee was getting nectar, but you can see the pollen on him.

My boys tinkering on my car.

Ross tossing a football to his brother.

Now if this isn't just like when they were little!

Adam in the process of throwing the ball.

Mmmm.....the shrimp were ready!  They were great!  Good job, Adam!

I just love spending time with my boys.  It's like old times, before they became grown men!  While I miss my little boys, I sure do love and admire these two men!  We had a wonderful time together.
