Meet
"J". He's Adam's cat, but I guess he belongs to all of
us.....or we belong to him. He's a character and a half and he
tolerates us living in his house. He's both very playful and very
lazy. I think the following pictures fall in that lazy category.
J is only a year old, but most of that year he has lived life to the
fullest...ummm....with the exception for that little visit to the vet for
neutering! But his life didn't start that way. Let me tell you
his story....... |

|
When
J was just a couple of weeks old some heartless humans put him, his four
littermates, and his mom into a cardboard box. Then they threw the
box into someone's dog yard. Luckily for J and his family, the owner
of the dogs saw and ran outside. The horrible, sick people that did
this ran away and the dogs' owners were able to retrieve the box before
the Pit bulls ripped it open! This family was horrified to find a
family of cats in the box! |

A
teenager who lived in that home was friends with a young man who was
friends with my friend Melissa. (Did you get that? :)
Melissa is the kindest person you will ever meet. She'll help any
living being that needs help be it cat, dog, or human. I've even
seen her feeding a litter of mice with an eyedropper! I'm sure you
figured out by now that Melissa ended up with this box of wild, scared
cats. |

|
Melissa
worked hard to keep the mama cat well fed and calm, but she was just so
untrusting of humans. She hung around Melissa's place for awhile
before she set out to live her life in the nearby woods. She was a
great big cat, too. J must have gotten his size from her. |
|
|
|
Melissa
worked with the kittens until they were eating well and then she found
good homes for them. J made his way here and another one, JC, ended
up taking over my sisters home. Yep, he's just as spoiled as
J. (Can you believe we ended up naming them J and JC? We had a
good laugh when we realized that!) |

|
My
kids didn't know that we were to get a new cat....I'm not even sure I knew
it! I rolled J, the little wild man, up in hand towel so he couldn't
scratch me and headed out to pick up my boys from school. Ross
already had a cat, Oreo, who lives outside, so I handed the rolled up
towel to Adam and told him, "Here, this is for you". It
took him a few seconds to realize just exactly what I handed him. |

|
J
has come a long way since that day. He's happy and healthy and
enjoying his life as a house cat. We're glad he came into our lives
and I'm sure he's happy to have us, too. I'm glad the sick people
that put him and his family in that box missed out on the gory show they
evidently wanted to see. They need help. Just look at how
sweet J is! |
